When I think of January, I think of crackling fires, soups simmering on the stove, hunting for Valentine’s gifts, and quiet, snowy mornings. During the first month of the year, I jump straight into a love affair with pastel-colored clothing. Warm coats in light blue, cream, and pale pink hang in my closet and cream sweaters with corduroy pants keep me feeling cozy. No matter what the trends forecast each winter, I always reach for these feminine colors around this chilly time of year.
While I have a well-curated collection of winter pastels, I’ve rounded up a few candy-colored pieces from around the web that I’m eyeing.
I would pair this affordable cardigan with a sleeveless white turtleneck and high-waisted jeans. The longer length of this sweater would keep my backside warm, too.
Did you know that Pandora makes rings? I absolutely adore their ring collection. I have a Pandora blue crystal ring that I purchased 2 years ago, but this delicate pink one really catches my eye. How pretty would this ring be with pale pink polish on your nails?
This grown-up pink polish is a welcomed change from the holiday red polish I had been wearing. This neutral shade goes with everything!
My mom and I are obsessed with the selection of corduroy pants at Talbots! They have 5 colors and 3 lengths to choose from and always go on sale after Christmas. Right now, they are $30 reduced from $95. I would pair these with a chambray shirt and a camel overcoat with a blush scarf. I have short legs and I love that I can order these in the petite size so I don’t have to get them tailored. Plus, they aren’t sheer like a lot of cords to be in this color.
This nude pink lip color is long-lasting and affordable. I picked this up from Ulta a few months ago and it has become my go-to nude lip color. It dries to a matte finish with a bit of gloss texture. If you try it, let me know what you think of the finish. It’s not your typical matte liquid lipstick. I like to wear this color to work with an extra swipe of blush to look rosy and awake.
This floral ruffle-sleeved jumpsuit has pastel pink flowers all over it and is giving off major Valentine’s Day vibes. This Dress Barn jumpsuit is only $54 and is office-appropriate with a pink or black cardigan. Pair this jumpsuit with a messy bun and a swipe of the L.A.Girl matte gloss (mentioned above). My husband Charlie is truly perplexed by the jumpsuit trend, but that doesn’t stop me from wearing them! Haha! This trend is so playful and fun (read my jumpsuit guide here). Jumpsuits are easy to throw on and you could definitely wear this on a date without a sweater.
So tell me, do you gravitate towards pastels in the wintertime, too? What are your favorite pastel looks or products? Tell me about it in the comments below!
