First of all, I should disclose that the title of this post should be Cool Gifts I Got From My Mother-in-law. This past December, I received some really practical and thoughtful Christmas presents from my husband’s mom Peggy (hey Peg!) and 2 other products that I discovered on my own. My favorite things from this month include an essential oil diffuser, a plumping lip gloss, a beauty sponge, and a new-to-me snack bar flavor.
This GreenAir Serene Living Oil Diffuser has been perched on our living room side table all month long. It was a gift from Peggy. I like to use essential oils, such as lemon, lavender, peppermint, and tree tree oil, to make our home smell fresh and clean. The egg-shaped diffuser can light up in multiple colors or it can remain white and unlit. The design is minimalist and the wood finish fits in with our neutral furniture. Use the link above to get one for yourself for $35. Do you have a diffuser, too? Let me know in the comments!
This plumping lip gloss by Bare Minerals has converted me to a lip gloss wearer! It glides on smoothly, doesn’t feel too sticky, and smells like vanilla peppermint. All of the shades are subtle with a hint of shimmer. I found it at my local Cosmetic Market in Green Hills and picked it up for $18. It is a high quality formula and very moisturizing. I like to apply it over my lipstick for a plumping effect. My favorite shade is “Charmer,” a soft creamy pink color.
I’ve always used my fingers to apply foundation and concealer, but now I am a total beauty sponge convert! This is also a Peggy gift and I love it! I wet it and use quick bouncing strokes to apply my foundation. My skin looks airbrushed and well-blended when I use a sponge. Do you use your fingers or are you dedicated to using your beauty sponge? You can buy an affordable pack of sponge blenders here for $9.
Since my January was all about the Whole 30 diet, I discovered a plethora of Larabar flavors, including the luscious Cashew Cookie flavor. They are absolutely delicious, in my opinion. I like to eat them as my breakfast with some herbal tea. They are very satisfying and hold me over until lunch. You can find a pack at your local Kroger for around $5 a box.
So, that was my round-up for January. I tried not to buy much this month since I’m starting to plan my summer trips. So, tell me: what did you pick up this month?
