My Spring Lipstick Picks

When the Spring rolls around, I reach for softer pink and coral lip colors to match my pastel clothes and ashier blonde hair. I’m sharing 3 of my go-to lipsticks for this transitional time of year.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream “Istanbul”

Jordan 3.11.18-10
Sweater from Lilac and Birch

This matte lipstick smells like vanilla and applies smoothly. To keep the color as true to its bottle color, I apply concealer to my lips first to create a blank canvas and then I apply 2 coats. I go over this lipstick with a pale pink lip pencil around the border of my lips to keep it looking precise and clean. I love to pair this pale pink lipstick with pastel colored clothing to keep the look monochromatic and fresh.

Lord and Berry “Sensual”

I received this neutral pink lip crayon in my Lip Monthly bag from February. It’s easy to apply as a crayon and deeply moisturizing. This is a trusty, everyday color that looks just “my lips, but better.” If you love lipstick and enjoy experimenting with different colors, give Lip Monthly a try. I have yet to write a review, but I enjoy getting the little goody bag of 4 lip products every month, especially when it comes with such a practical color like this one.

Axiology “Vibration”

This rosy coral lipstick glides on with strong pigment and emits a delicious orange oil scent. It’s has a silky satin finish, but requires blotting. The only caveat about this comfortable, moisturizing lipstick is that it can get on your teeth pretty easily. One of my students told me I had it on my teeth (…embarassing, haha!) and I am extra mindful now. It slips off my lips if I’m not checking it every hour. Otherwise, the formula is deeply hydrating and the golden bullet packaging is fun to use and feels sophisticated.

So, tell me: do you rotate lipsticks seasonally? What are your Spring lipstick colors and brands?
