As you know by now, I subscribe to Lip Monthly, a $13 beauty subscription box with 4-5 lip products that arrives at my doorstep each month. This month, I received 2 lipsticks, one gloss, and one liquid lipstick. Since it’s springtime, I was expecting some brighter corals or melon pinks, so I am pleased that Lip Monthly did not disappoint with the fuchsia pink lipstick and the matte melon lipstick I received!
Keep reading to see what I got in my Lip Monthly bag.
City Color Be Matte Lipstick in “Melon”
I told ya’ll I was hoping for a melon lip color and Lip Monthly listened to my prayers! This City Color matte lipstick smells floral and feels deeply pigmented. I am impressed that a $6 lipstick feels so long-lasting! I will wear this melon shade with an extra swipe of blush and a low bun for work. This is a win for me!
Starlooks Ultra Matte Lipstick in “RAWR!”
When I first pulled this punchy pink shade out of the bag, I felt like I got Barbie’s lipstick from the 90s! This $12 matte lipstick is perfectly smooth and smells like vanilla. I plan on wearing this shade to the pool with a big floppy hat and (fake) tan skin! It looks especially chic with big black sunglasses. This might just be the most glamorous pink lip color I own!
Bellapierre Kiss Proof Lip Crème in “Nude”
I am always skeptical of any lip products that claim to be “kiss-proof,” but I gave this one a whirl. This $20 liquid lipstick smells fruity and takes a few minutes to dry on your lips, but it is long-lasting and completely matte. The cool, rose tone of the lip color reminds me of Nyx Liquid Suede Liquid Lipstick in Soft Spoken, which is a cult-favorite. It has a slight satin-finish, though. When I gave my husband a peck on the lips, it didn’t transfer, but it has a slightly sticky finish. It’s not 100% matte, but I love the color and quality of this formula.
Mally Ultimate Performance Lip Shellac in Perfect Nude
If you like shiny lip glosses, then you’ll love this nude peach lip gloss. Mally Roncal is one of the top makeup artists in the industry, so I trust the products that she sells, but I’m not a big gloss fan. It retails for $21 and I do appreciate the sleek packaging, but I don’t like the sticky feeling of gloss on my lips unless it’s a lip plumper. I might experiment with this peach nude gloss by pairing it with a smoky eye and bronzed blush with a lace black top and dark jeans for a date. We shall see! Do you wear glosses or skip them?
I hope y’all enjoyed this review of the April Lip Monthly bag! I am excited to wear the melon matte lipstick and the Starlooks hot pink lippie. What do you think of this month’s selection? Let me know in the comments below!
