This past Saturday, Charlie and I went to the 12 South to have a late afternoon treat. We stopped by the Peach Cobbler Factory food truck and a shaved ice truck. I nibbled on peach cobbler in a bowl with 3 tiny scoops of vanilla with the lightest dusting of cinnamon on top. It was divine! I am such a sucker for fruit desserts. The combo of cold ice cream and warm fruit filling really hit the spot! Charlie had a raspberry shaved ice since he loves traditional New Orleans-style snowballs. Have you ever had an authentic snow cone from Lousiana? The ice is shaved so thin that it just melts instantly!
After we ate our desserts, we walked around and just enjoyed the spring sunshine. I can walk miles in these Dansko heels since they have strong arch support and a comfy stacked heel. As for the shorts and blouse, they are both a few years old. These high-waisted denim shorts match everything and feel a bit 1950s pin-up thanks to the high-rise. They flatter my curves and pair well with a billowy top to balance out the look.
As for the Free People burgundy blouse, I purchased it second-hand on Thred Up. I’ve talked about Thred Up before, but I’ll mention it again: this is where I buy name brand clothes in fantastic condition for really low prices. This top was around $15! If you browse the site a few times a week, you can find gems like this boho blouse. Do you thrift shop, too?
Since I like to coordinate my lip color with my outfit, I reached for this pumpkin orange color Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in “Torch” for $20. Yep, you read that right. I’m wearing eyeliner on my lips! I’ve mentioned this beauty hack on my Instagram Stories before, but you can wear eyeliner on your lips if the formula is creamy and moisturizing. This color is a dupe for the Kylie Jenner Lip Kit in “Pumpkin” for $29, but you can have a waterproof formula for $9 cheaper with the Urban Decay pencil. Have you ever tried this beauty hack?
So, would you wear shorts with heels? Do you shop second-hand, too? Any beauty hacks I don’t know about? Let me know and thanks for reading!
