Today’s Style Story is all about this fresh boho look! I wore this breezy blouse and flared jeans to a coffee date with my friend and fellow blogger Shelly last week. She is a gardening blogger and her site, A Garden in Progress, is beautiful with glossy photos of plants and flowers that make you want to grab a coffee and read for a while! We met up at a hip coffeehouse in Germantown called Barista Parlor and both ordered the Vietnamese Cold Brew. It was delicious and refreshing in this hot weather!
When I got dressed that morning, I planned the outfit with the intention of keeping my proportions balanced. By this, I mean that I like to have one piece fit snugly and have another fit loosely to keep the look polished and flattering. Since my white flares are more fitted in the waist, I love how this thrifted blouse billows when the wind blows. I found this tie-dye blue blouse at Thred Up, an online thrift shop this past spring and only paid $15! This is how I can afford name brand clothes if I shop frequently.
While I do love buying new things, I feel better knowing that I’m recycling clothes by buying thrifted items. Are you the same way? As for makeup, I wore very minimal makeup because I had just finished getting a facial before this photo was taken. As y’all know, it is imperative to let your skin breathe for 24 hours after a facial–otherwise, breakouts can occur! With that said, all I did was pencil in my brows and swipe on mascara and lip gloss. The pinky nude gloss I wore for this look is Laritzy Lipgloss in Knockout. I received this lip color in my May Lip Monthly and enjoy the natural glossy lip look once in a while.
Besides my minimal makeup, I picked up this straw tote bag while shopping around in Nassau, Bahamas on my cruise trip this past June. The vendor even stitched my name on the back! How darling is this tote? I use it as a pool bag and laptop bag when I blog at cafés on the weekends. It is lined with an adorable flower print and just makes me happy! This is the only souvenir I bought during my vacation this summer. What souvenirs do you look for on vacations? I personally love finding accessories that remind me of my travels.
Photography Note: My husband and I shot these photos with the lens that came with our Nikon, so that’s why these photos are not the most stunningly detailed, but we are still learning, I suppose. We typically shoot photos with a close-up lens, but took a risk by playing around with a lower-quality lens.
What did you think of this boho outfit? How would you style this top?
