Today’s Style Story is all about light layers and fringe. Since August is right around the corner, I am craving early Fall clothes! Do you get that feeling around this time of year, too? It’s pretty tough to layer textures and fabrics in the summer with the oppressive heat, but I managed to stay cool and comfy in this kimono. While I usually wear it as a cover-up over my swimsuit, I love pairing a kimono with boyfriend jeans as seen here. Kimonos give off a relaxed, boho vibe and I don’t think this trend is going out of style any time soon! I’ve linked a $13 Target Kimono that I’ve got my eye on. How do you dress this time of year?
The day that I wore this outfit, I went to a few doctors appointments and trivia at Nama Sushi later. Although it seemed like a mundane day of errands, I felt so stylish in this boho look, especially with my Sbicca wedges. I picked them up at Upper Eastside, my go-to boho boutique in East Nashville. The footbed in these wedges is almost like memory foam. The leather molds to my feet and provides arch support and comfort for my sore heels. When I find comfortable, walkable wedges, I feel like I’m winning at life! What are your most comfortable heels or wedges?
Cuffed jeans and wedge sandals are always chic together, don’t you think? When choosing my accessories, like my fringe bag, I wanted a piece that would complement the tassels on the kimono. Whenever I carry around this bag, my mom says that it’s “very Nashville” with the fringe and country-boho feel. I might as well embrace that, right?
As for my makeup look, I reached for a bright hot pink lipstick by Starlooks. I also kept my glasses on to offset the bright lip. I love how chic a messy bun, glasses, and bright lipstick looks with a quirky outfit. This is my go-to makeup look for teaching: simple but full of personality!
As always, thanks for reading and I hope this boho look inspires you to wear some color!
