October’s Lip Monthly is my favorite selection yet! The color palette of orange mattes and holographic glosses really hit the spot. This is exactly why I enjoy this monthly lip product subscription of 4-5 products. This month’s theme was “On a bad day, there’s always lipstick,” which is a motto that I live by. The variety of products keeps it fresh. Continue reading to see every lip color I received this month!
Lord & Berry lip pencil in “Orange”
This Lord and Berry matte lip pencil delivers serious color and a drying matte formula. Orange is such a power color for the office if worn appropriately with neutral makeup and a neutral colored outfit. When I want to feel my most confident, I reach for orange. So many people shy away from this color, but it truly brightens up a complexion with the right shade. This lip pencil retails for $18, but it feels like a drugstore $4 NYX lip pencil formula to me. What do you think of this orange matte lip color pictured below?
So Susan Liquid Matte Lipstick in “Pumpkin”
This liquid lipstick by So Susan is my favorite item from this month’s bag. The shade is called “Pumpkin” and it retails for $14, a great value for such a long-lasting formula. I love this brownish-orange shade for work because it’s understated and polished. The formula lasted all day through lunch. I had to reapply around 5pm, so I consider this formula top-notch. As a matte color, it can be drying, but I don’t wear it everyday for that very reason. What do you think of this terracotta-pumpkin shade?
Bella Pierre Holographic Lip Gloss
This holographic lip gloss from Bella Pierre serves as the wildcard item this month. This was a brilliant addition and perfectly on theme for Halloween. The holographic finish of the gloss is surprisingly flattering and the formula gives off a fruity scent, reminiscent of Limited Too lip gloss that I wore in elementary school. Pure nostalgia of the late 90s and early 2000s, am I right? I would wear this color with a unicorn or fairy costume for Halloween. For nighttime, I would wear this with false lashes and a swipe of highlighter to play up my skin. What a fun product!
Luna by Luna Lip Oil
Lip oils have been all the rage lately and for good reason. They apply smoothly and feel moisturizing on the lips. This sheer orange tinted gloss by Luna by Luna has the most adorable packaging with stars and a crescent moon. The formula serves as a lip treatment to provide moisture and hydration for chapped lips. Since the color is sheer, I did not photograph myself in it. I’ll reach for this at night time as a lip treatment, just like I would use a foot cream on my feet or cuticle cream on my fingers. Are you a fan of lip oils, too?
What do you think of this Halloween-themed Lip Monthly? I think they knocked it out of the park with the inclusion of a bright, neutral, holographic, and lip treatment.
