Beauty Subscription Review: So Susan “Color Curate” November 2018

This month, I decided to try a new beauty subscription box called So Susan Color Curate. This monthly beauty box is filled with 4 full-size cruelty-free, vegan makeup products for $21 a month, including shipping. November’s box provided my Thanksgiving Makeup Look as well as a great first impression to So Susan products. The theme for the November box was “In everything, give thanks. ” As soon as I pulled out the makeup pouch from the box, I threw my everyday products in there and have been using it daily ever since! Keep reading to see what I got in November’s box!

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Oil in “Satsuma”

Jordan 11.25.18-5This orange tinted lip oil applies smoothly and feels as light as a feather. It provides a sheer citrus color on my lips and light hydration. If I’m going for a “no-makeup” look, I’ll reach for this. Lip oils are lighter than gloss and have zero stickiness (cheers!). You can get this tinted lip oil at Jelly Pong Pong (what a fun name!) for $21.

Trifle Cosmetics Eye Candy Eye Shadow in “Cupcake”

Jordan 11.25.18-6First of all, the packaging of this eye shadow is just darling! The little cupcakes and sweets on the box feel kawaii and whimsical. As for the $14 eye shadow duo by Trifle Cosmetics, I’m impressed with the blend-ability of the shimmer shadows. The light blue shadow pairs beautifully with the eggplant purple hue for a daytime smoky eye. I am not an eyeshadow expert by any means, but I had fun playing around with the eggplant color on my lid and crease. I swept a bit of the light blue on my lower lash line for a subtle pop of color. See below to view my daytime eye makeup with this eyeshadow duo.

This plum eyeshadow is surprisingly flattering. Just apply with a light hand and blend out to avoid looking like you have a black eye!

Jelly Pong Pong Nebula Eyeshadow in “Interstellar”

Jordan 11.25.18-10

The texture of this gold metallic eye shadow is rich, buttery, and oh-so creamy. Also, let’s hear it for that colorful space-inspired packaging. As a highly visual consumer, I truly appreciate eye-catching packaging on my beauty products. It creates a fun, playful first impression. As for the actual shadow, I put this $22 gold shadow to use as soon as I opened it from the package, as you can see in my Thanksgiving Makeup Look below. I dabbed a bit of the gold shadow into the inner bottom lash line.

This fall makeup look is one of my all-time favorites from this season. All you need is a dark brown lip, eggplant shadow, and gold shadow.

So Susan Glow Amplifier Prismatic Glow Palette

Jordan 11.25.18-12

This highlighter palette is one of the best cream formulas I’ve ever used. Valued at $48, this So Susan palette includes 4 blend-able, luminous highlighters that don’t clog my pores. All four colors are surprisingly wearable and I rotate between all 4 shades every week. Cream formulas are my preference over powders because they blend easily winter skin. This palette is a slam dunk!

I’m wearing the rose gold shade “Sly” from the highlighter palette. It gives my cheeks a warm, rosy tint.
