What’s your daily skincare routine? I wash my face in the shower each morning with my Clarisonic and the Epionce Lytic Gel Cleanser. Sometimes I will use the St. Ives scrub for blemish control. I follow washing my face with the Epionce Purifying Toner and either Neutrogena or ROC eye cream. Because I have oily skin, I don’t always use moisturizer in the mornings before applying my makeup.

In the evenings, I do the same routine, except I add the Epionce moisturizer. I’ve been out of the Clinique turn-around cream for a while, but I just replenished! I love that stuff, and my mom has been using it for decades.

I love Clinique, too! What about your makeup routine? My everyday makeup routine consists of primer, Maybelline’s BB cream foundation, a thin layer of powder, Elf’s matte HD finishing powder and blush. I always pencil in my brows and wear mascara, and I may do a light eye shadow to give my eyes some dimension. I top it off with a lipstick, whether it be a nude or a deep red.

I agree about brows being a part of a daily routine.  You always have amazing brows!  : Thanks! I think well-shaped, even eyebrows take your face to a whole new level. They just bring all your features together, so I rarely leave the house without my “brows on!”

Let’s talk about your lip colors: I love wearing lip color! In fact, most of the time when I’m at home, I’m still applying lipstick. I don’t have a favorite color, but I’m always down for a nude, red or berry color.

How do you get ready for special events? Getting ready for an event is so fun, and I like to give myself plenty of time to primp and pamper. My nails will be done, and I’ll make sure all my parts are nice and smooth. I will usually also do a face mask the day of or before. I recently starting “shaving my face” with a women’s face/eyebrow razor, so I will always do that before events now as well. (Your makeup goes on and looks much smoother!)

Then, I enjoy having a glass of wine, putting on some music and slowly getting ready.

Vacation prep? I don’t like going on vacation without a bikini wax and Botox. I’ll schedule the wax for a couple of days before vacay, and if it’s been a while since I had Botox, I pencil that in too. I’ll get my nails and toes done, make time for face masking and buy a few new things that will make me feel pretty during our time away.

Describe your approach to hair care? I have naturally dark hair, but I get blonde highlights, so I always use Shimmer Lights purple shampoo. It keeps my hair from turning brassy. I switch up my conditioner each time I run out. To style my hair, I spray Kenra’s Blow Dry Spray and It’s a 10 product in my hair before drying. After I dry my hair, I add Kenra Silkening Gloss, then I usually style with wavy curls.

I have naturally curly hair, so if I do my hair curly, I’ll use Sauve’s scrunching mouse.

Share your self-care rituals. I am a big fan of bubble baths, and my husband is quite good at running them. 🙂 I have oily, acne-prone skin, so masking is an important part of self-care for me. It keeps my skin clearer and helps me feel more confident. My go-to masks are the Aztec Healing Clay Mask, a manuka honey mask and any of those sheet masks.

Food is another way I care for myself. I try to cook healthy meals for my husband and I, and I usually pack our lunches. Scheduling girl time with girlfriends, taking walks and watching an episode of Kardashians or Real Housewives also keeps me feeling like myself.

Favorite scents/perfume? I have sensitive sinuses, so anything too spicy or aromatic makes my head start hurting and my sinuses start clogging. So, I keep it simple with my scents and perfume – I love anything that is vanilla, sugary, musky or lightly floral.

Top 3 products you recommend from your beauty bag: A makeup sponge for your foundation, eye cream and an eyebrow pencil. I use Elf’s eyebrow pencils and love them. (They’re also only, like, $3.)

How do you relax? I relax with a bath, a some wine, a walk in the park or snuggles with my hubby and pups.

Who are your beauty inspirations and why: Hm. Good question. I’m really not a beauty person, so I couldn’t tell you what inspires me beauty wise. But, my goal is to preserve my skin’s youth as much as possible always.

What beauty tips did you learn from your family? I learned to maintain my brows from my mom. She used to pluck hers nearly everyday when I was growing up. My grandmother always has on lipstick, so I think I inherited that from her. And my sister first introduced me to Botox.

What do you love most about your beauty behavior? Hm. Another good question! Right now, I’m not thrilled with my beauty behavior. The few things I like (Botox, my moisturizer, my turn-around cream), I haven’t been very consistent with. When one runs out, I take too long to get it again because I’m so frugal. But, I’m going to try to be much better at this in 2019.

What is your favorite feature about yourself? If you would have asked me this question a year or two ago, I’d probably say my butt or something. But, I’m in a place now where I appreciate all of my features. My body isn’t perfect, but it’s mine. It takes me where I need to go, and it makes me feel confident.

Beauty advice for your 20s? Start getting Botox, and when it wears off, be adamant about quickly getting it again. If you can’t make a wrinkle, you can’t get a wrinkle! So, I suggest starting your Botox regime before you have wrinkles.

Thank you so much, Lauren! I loved learning about Botox and your skincare routine. I will definitely be picking up a manuka honey mask and testing out that Elf brow pencil as per your recommendation.
