March marks a transitional time between Winter and Spring, full of cold spells and longer afternoons of sunshine. Coming off the end of Valentine’s Day and short Winter days, I’m embracing lighter colors in my makeup and wardrobe in March. This month, I scored some fantastic deals at my local Goodwill and discovered new-to-me Trader Joe’s products. Keep reading to see my Finds of the Month for March!
Trader Joe’s Rose Facial Oil
Consider this Rose Facial Oil by Trader Joe’s my new favorite skincare product. Just one pump of this oil spreads all over my face and eliminates my dry, peeling skin. Since I have sensitive-combination skin, my forehead and cheeks peel from dry winter air, but this product remedies that issue.
Rose oil adds a brightness and glow to my complexion. If you want to try it, it runs for $6. For directions on how and when to use this: in the mornings, I apply it before my SPF moisturizer and it keeps my skin flake-free all day long! At night, I apply it before my night cream and I wake up with dewy skin. If you are looking for an affordable facial oil or serum, I highly recommend this product!
Thrifted Turtleneck and Blouse from Goodwill
On a recent trip to GoodWill with my friend Andrea, I scored this Nordstrom-brand blue blouse for $3. When thrift-shopping, I inspect items very carefully. I look for snags, missing buttons, stains, and overall fit. While it takes a good 30 minutes to find a few pieces, I always leave GoodWill feeling like I just saved money on work clothes. I’ve been twice now to the Cool Springs location and I always go with a specific item in mind. This month, I want to refresh my work wardrobe, so I focused finding like-new blouses. GoodWill can be overwhelming unless you have a specific idea of what you want.
I also found this staple-piece orange ribbed turtleneck for $2 at GoodWill. The rusty orange color feels fresh for Spring and fits like a glove. After careful inspection, I added it to my closet and have worn it twice with white jeans and blue jeans for an easy weekend look. When shopping at GoodWill, I look for classic pieces that have higher quality fabrics or look expensive with simple design. Have you browsed your local thrift stores recently? You might be surprised with what you find!
Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub
On recent solo trip to Kroger, I found this delightful new addition to my shower routine. This $4 body scrub instantly turns my shower experience into a luxurious, tropical spa. The texture of the sugar scrub is thick and enriched with shea butter, leaving my skin exfoliated and soft to the touch. Since summer weather is coming up in a month or two, I reach for an exfoliating scrub like this one to prepare my legs for shorts, skirts, and dresses. I use this scrub all over my body, paying special attention to my legs before shaving to have smoother skin.
Trader Joe’s Dark Roast Coffee Beans
Ever since I started Whole 30 last December, I’ve developed a liking for dark roast coffee without any cream or sugar. This Dark Roast by Trader Joe’s comes in whole beans, so I have to use a grinder. The morning ritual is enough to motivate me to get out of bed on dark mornings during Daylight Savings Time. Have you ever tried this $6 roast? It’s rich and delicious, whether taken with a splash of cream or black.
Love Book (A Valentine Gift from my husband)
For Valentine’s Day, my husband sweetly designed this custom Love Book as a gift to me. Filled with adorable illustrations, inside jokes, and cartoon versions of the two of us, this personalized book makes me smile every time I look at it.
I don’t mention my marriage much on this blog because it’s sacred and private, but I feel compelled to share this gift idea with y’all. The Love Book that Charlie made for me took him under an hour to put together with cartoon templates and several customizable options, like paperback or hardback, number of pages, and fast shipping.
Well, there you have it! After last month’s Le Tote, I was more conservative with my spending this month and dabbled in new Trader Joe’s products. Thanks for reading and I hope that you are having a wonderful March! Stay tuned for my Spring Rituals post coming later this week!
