As I was browsing Le Tote for some new spring pieces, I recently came across the bright suit trend. Women are reaching for power suits in punchy colors, like watermelon, tangerine, and baby pink. I’ve always felt that a women’s pant suit is effortlessly-chic when worn to a fancy dinner or special event. Since a pants suit can be much more versatile when broken up with basics like a blouse, t-shirt, or black jeans, I took the plunge and included a hot pink suit in my Le Tote order this month. Keep reading to see how I styled a pink suit 3 ways for work, drinks, and a date night!
For a Date
When I received this hot pink suit in my Le Tote this month, I knew I’d save it for a fancy dinner out on the town with my husband. Now, be warned: this suit will turn heads! I made Friday night dinner reservations at the intriguing House of Cards, a dress-code enforced steakhouse with a magic show included.
Charlie and I were pretty hyped to get all dressed up. First, he emerged in his slim-cut charcoal gray wool suit. He looked dapper and very handsome. I stepped out in my hot pink suit, paired with a simple black tank and statement heels. He immediately exclaimed, “It’s Barbie Goes to the Magic Show!” Well, folks: he’s not wrong (laughs).
If you have several dressy events and want to stand out in a sea of dresses, try an evening suit like one from Le Tote. It’s classic, comfy, and chic.
Whether you work in an office, classroom, or somewhere more casual, you can’t go wrong with a pair of trousers in a bright, springy watermelon hue! These pants are high-waisted to give off a pinup vibe and structured enough to wear during the daytime.
To offset the bold pink color of the pants, I paired the trousers with a simple white cotton blouse and the most comfortable black pumps I own. This work-appropriate outfit is such an uncomplicated look, yet packs a punch!
I took the pink blazer out for a spin when I got drinks with my buddy Lauren from ModWife.co. I wanted to look polished and feminine, so I threw on the blazer with a tank and black jeans. To really kick this look up a notch, I should have slipped on some leg-lengthening heels, but I kept things practical with my comfy pumps. We met up at Milk and Honey’s bar for Prosecco and mocktails.
The jeans-blazer combo has been going strong for the last decade and there’s a reason why we stick with the classics. This outfit is incredibly versatile for a creative dress-code in a classroom or office setting. Switch out the pumps for statement heels and you’re ready for a cocktail at sunset (just me?).
What are your thoughts?
So, tell me: would you try this brightly-colored suit trend? I have to admit: I was a bit timid about it at first, but felt like I was living my best life when my husband teased that I looked like Barbie. Don’t we all want to feel like a #GirlBoss in an eye-catching suit? I know I do! Thanks for reading and I hope y’all survived this crazy Monday!
